Micro Budget Stories of Success?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to find some stories of success of the more modest kind... making films for under $250k and turning profits with them. It seems like the Clerks and El Mariachis are the only ones that get written up. Anyone know where I might find some stories like that or some names of films to look up or websites? Thank you!

This is a much, much longer discussion than anything I can include in a simple reply, but YES, there are a few of us on here who have had substantial success, but are still under the radar as filmmakers.

And outside of this forum, there are many filmmakers who make money making movies - but you may not hear about them for awhile because their films are marketed to a niche audience.
