Making a Reel From DVD Footage

I'm making a reel for an actress and she gave me DVDs. I have Mac the Ripper so there's no real problem ripping the DVD to my desktop. But, I've found that the Audio Folder is empty. If I just play the ripped file on my desktop the audio is there. But, when I upload it to Final Cut nothing.

Does anyone know how to get the audio files to appear?

Thanks.

Why can't things be easy? Like, her giving me .mov, QT, avi...

Thank You, I'll give it a shot.

I found last night a ripper for DVD audio. I rip that, then I have to drag the VOB I think the footage is on to my computer, combine and line up the clips. It's a pain. Hopefully your way will work much quicker.

Plus, these DVDs she gave me are in pretty bad shape.

Thanks again.

MPEG Streamclip also automatically recognizes separate VOB files as single DVD streams, and asks you if you want to combine them into one stream. Can't get more convenient than that.

Also, it will ask to fix time code breaks for you on import. It's really a great tool!

THANK YOU for the info. Streamclip worked like a charm. I turned them into .movs, and the audio was automatically there. Plus, when I uploaded them into Final Cut, I didn't have to render.

Thanks again. This was a life and time saver.
