Yes, please I'd like to know also--how did you get the Netflix deal? Our distributor (who has over a thousand titles under their release belt) couldn't get our last feature (which is doing very well in sales) on Netflix.

Oh, and CONGRATS!

I notice you have a few 7D tests, does this mean you shot the feature with a 7D....?

People have been biting at the bit to hear how it'd perform.

Sorry to interject...

I'm acting in a decent budget micro indie feature behing shot on 7D...and it's coming along really well. The images we are getting are stellar...it's a horror film shot in a derelict insane asylum (movie crew shooting a movie there).

They seem to be very happy with the footage. The guys camera rig, onboard monitor and follow focus are really nice.

Cracker Funk,

Thank you. I'm planning an aggressive marketing campaign for the summer. There's some great music, too, I promise.

How did you get the netflix deal? Was it difficult? Did you go through a company or distributor?

Dreadylocks and M1chae1,

How did I get on Netflix, saved status?

I did not go through a distributor. After having had some success with festivals, winning a few awards, and then meeting small distributors, I researched the films they represented; after contacting filmmakers on many of these distribution company's pages, I found that many filmmakers out there weren't very satisfied with their situation. Some were actually quite angry with how little the distribution company was doing. The situation is similar to that of many actors and agents--the actors are often out there hustling up more work than their agent can get. This, of course, is at a certain level.

Here's the link to start the process with Netflix. I wish you both the best of luck. Thank you for the kind words.

Dear PaperTwin Productions and M1chae1,

When you watch the trailer for "Losing You" http://vimeo.com/5431353 you'll see that, yes, I have many videos with test footage of the 7D to the right of the video.

Unfortunately, when I shot "Losing You" the 7D wasn't out yet, and I used the Sony HDR FX1, instead. The camera worked fine for LY and the many guerilla shoots: We actually drove to Nashville from Los Angeles and strapped the FX1 to the hood via a suction cup from Film Tools in Burbank.

The 7D is a dream though. I recently shot a loose narrative downtown w/ it if you fancy a gander:

If interested in orighinal music let me know, currently my music house is offering music for indie films.

Tona,

Thanks, Tona. I'm planning on collaborating with Jose Villalobos this summer on a film. He helped compose "The Kite Runner." Could you send me a link to listen to some of your work?

Best,

Ian
