Logline aGoGo (the brainstorming game)

Do you ever come up with interesting movie idea, but don't want to pursue writing your own screenplay about it?

Well, then - don't just lose that thought - instead, craft a spiffy log line and reply to this thread.

If enough people participate, I'll try and remember to pull up your logline and add it to the list below.

Use this Structure

Title:
Logline
YourScreenName

I'll go ahead an get this started....

LOGLINE AGOGO - THE BRAINSTORMING GAME

OK - no players yet!

Hmmmmff...

Then I'll add some LOGLINES I've seen for current or in development films - and invite you to do the same.

IDENTITY THEFT

She's having the time of his life.

(personally, I think that's brilliant)

ANYTHING BUT FROGS

A stripper is cast as the lead singer in a musical, and the frog is the only one she won't kiss

According to Save the Cat - the logline is critical and should have all the right elements going for it BEFORE you even start writing the screenplay. And if you can't right a logline strong enough - than you should rethink your movie idea.

I love the idea of this thread but I don't know how many people are interested in giving away their cool sounding loglines...

I think a better way to go about this would be to just write the logline of stories you currently have in progress. I know just reading about other peoples projects that I am able to brainstorm easier, or at least get in the writing mood better.

To help DreamLarge out in this awesome thread idea, here are a few of my works-in-progress shorts of mine:

Title: Brothers in Crime
Genre: Drama/Action
Expected Length: 20 min
Logline: A younger brother is wanted for a murder he didn't commit. An older brother helps him escape out of love and duty to family. They both learn a lot about what they want out of life.

Title: Robbery (working title)
Genre: Action/Drama
Expected Length: 12 min
Logline: Three criminals arrive at a safe house after a robbery only to discover their employer dead. They fight and seduce each other for the riches.

Title: Lady Redundancy Girl
Genre: Comedy
Expected Length: 6 min
Logline: Two bored superheroes inadvertently help their nemesis achieve her lifelong dream of becoming a filmmaker.

Please don't take my ideas haha I'm just trying to modify this awesome sounding thread to inspire others

Tell me a bit about your current projects and maybe it'll spark a cool idea of my own!

Understandable concern.

How about you think about the foundation of this thread as practice, instead.

Review headlines and think of a story logline based on each one.
You can do this each and every day.

4. Successor to Benedict Will Lead a Church at a Crossroads
Pope Benedict XVI’s choice to resign sets up a struggle between conservatives, who advocated a smaller church of more fervent Catholics, and those who feel the church can grow its reach.
Things get ugly behind closed doors when depth of reach vs. breath of grasp is debated among top clergy.

5. Menendez Backed Donor on Port Security Plan
Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey discouraged any government gift of port security equipment to the Dominican Republic, citing concern for a company run by his friend, a major campaign contributor.

Many will show but only one broker will sell, or die trying, the most scandalous condo in all of the city.

12. FIVETHIRTYEIGHT New Rove Group Could Backfire on G.O.P.
An analysis of Republican Senate primaries in 2010 and 2012 suggests that money is usually the least pressing problem for the establishment candidates whom Karl Rove's new "super PAC" might be inclined to support.

Corn takes sixteen hours from throat to throne, and other things you (don't) wan't to know BUTT are too scared to ask about: A mocumentary on the Pope's poop!

16. NEWS ANALYSIS Obama’s Turn in Bush’s Bind
A onetime critic of his predecessor, President Obama finds himself justifying muscular defense policies while detractors complain that he has sacrificed core values.
There's no more room in the Oval Office's closet where the current President tries to hide the administration's new skeletons among the old trying to get out themselves.

Someone's getting the small end of the cheese when crafty rodents create inventive ways to outsmart the "Grabbers" in an attempt to free their little pink progeny.

18. CRITIC'S NOTEBOOK Grammys Measure Present by the Past
The structure of the award-giving, in which representatives of yesteryear weigh in on the acts of today, precludes the Grammys from capturing the shape, scale and range of modern music.
The music industry is bent on it's ear when a pair of bespectacled, PhD, blonde bombshells poured into business suits descend upon its judging process by court order with "logarithmic quantification constraint parameters."

19. OUR GENERATION The Death of a Prodigy and the Limitations of Talent

A lowly intern at a leading high tech multinational is assigned to plunder comic books and graphic novels for viable tech development. Pfft. These people are crazy, right? Maybe. Maybe not.

Good luck!

Revenge Of The Unemployed
Action / Thriller
Feature Film
A Fifty-Nine Year Old Software Engineer laid off by a blue chip software giant creates a computer virus that wipes out CEOs financial assets electronically worldwide, causing mass suicides of corporate leaders around the world. The former software engineer becomes a clergyman, believing money is the root of all evil and takes a vow of poverty and becomes invisible in plain sight.

I realize I have two sentences instead of one. I'd love to do a movie like this. So, I am getting carried away.

I would add to the plot that the virus had a delayed subroutine that commenced three months later of broadcasting all over the Internet the addresses of all of the homes of the global execs and their daily schedules. This invited thieves to rob whatever they had left.

There are more and more stories of people losing their jobs and striking back at the places that let them go. And, I have thought of what would happen if someone did come up with a virus that would wipe out financial records in all the stock markets. Which has led me to this story.

I like the concept of Caged - can you boil it down to one line (or 2 at most?)
