Locations in Los Angeles

Any filmmakers out there know of acoustically great locations in the LA area? I am shooting a low-budget music video where the artist's song is going to be captured on-set (just the way it has to be). I am charged with finding the perfect places for such a video, like stairwells or buildings or tunnels.

I'd really appreciate any help you guys can give me. I feel like everyone has at least one or two secret spots you want/like to film stuff. Together we can start a pretty useful list.

Honestly places like stairwells and tunnels are probably THE worst places to capture sound.

I'd go for a place that is as big as you can find (an abandoned factory or an empty sound stage for instance) so the audio doesn't bounce off the walls.

Don't be afraid to shoot outdoors either. It really just depends on your recording equipment. Watch this series of videos called "In The Open" - they were all shot/recorded live in the great outdoors. They look and sound beautiful.

I agree with moonshieldmedia, stairwells and tunnels are not the good place for shooting a music video because it will surely affect the sound quality of the video you are shooting for. To help you with the locations in LA, you can visit this site http://lightsonlocation.com. Lights On Location offers properties available for shooting films and music videos.
