Locations in a screenplay.

Is there any sort of rule when it comes to locations in a script? I mean things like using the real name of a high school, college, restaurant, etc. I'm just wondering if I use the name of a real town if I should use the real names of places in the town or just make them up.

You can use real names of towns in a script.

High schools, colleges, restaurants, etc. face a slightly different
challenge, but that only comes into play when the script goes
into production. If you are planning to make the movie yourself
just write what you feel is important to your story. If you are
writing with the hope of selling the script, it might be better to
use generic names for high schools, colleges, restaurants, etc.
