lighting Lighting and Wattage?

I can only give you advice based on my limited experience with lights so far.

I can put a 500 watt halogen as a keylight on someone, and that's plenty from what I've seen.

As far as diffused light goes, I use a 1600 watt halogen worklight that I bounce of walls and other things, and that can brighten up a subject and scene just fine.

900 watts seems like it'll be plenty bright for you.
