Lens question

Please have a look and listen to the below clip especially from position 2:42. Can you figure out what the speaker has said? It sounded like he said one of the below:

The phrase:

"Less ways to hide"

or

"Less waste to hide"

After listening to what he said please comment on what you think he said and also I would appreciate if you can break down what he means by that phrase above - i.e. 'less ways/waste to hide' what?

He is talking about the wide angle lens:
“...18mm wider. 12mm, wider. 8mm, wider. You see more of the set. There's less ways to hide.”
So if you continue watching he explains what he means; “you see
everything”. Look at the examples he gives; wide shots showing the
entire stage or location.

Then if you continue watching he gives example of other focal lengths,
or "angle of view" - meaning what the camera sees. Context is everything.
There isn't anything to break down that he didn't already break down
in an easy to understand way using some pretty good examples. He doesn't
seem to be talking about "waste" to me when he points out how wide an
18mm lens is.

What do YOU think he might be talking about of he is saying "less waste
to hide"? Perhaps I am the one missing something.

I believe any lens can work, it all depends on the person behind it. But for better features and professionalism in visuals, you'll have to spend the money and get a better lens.

Thanks for your reply! I think it was myself, in that, I misheard the word 'ways' for 'waste'. Appreciated!
