Here's some really good information for you all. Some of the things I was surprised about, but this will help answer a lot of questions.
You need a signed appearance from someone if anyone else could recognize
that person. On the other hand, if someone is unrecognizable, you generally don’t need a signed
release from them.
If someone is under 18 years old, you have to get their parent or legal guardian to sign an appearance
release for them.
You need a signed location release form if you shoot on private property. This has to be signed by the owner of the property on which you’re shooting. If you can tell by looking at a shot that you’re not on the property (as in, across the street) then you’re O.K.
Watch out for radios and stereos playing in the background of your location. If an artist is playing, you’ll
have to pay the record company big bucks to use it.
If you shoot footage of public figures or celebrities, you generally don’t have to get a signed release from
them. But remember: Even famous people have privacy rights!
Get your releases signed as fast as possible. Tracking people down after the fact can be a nightmare.

This is not legal advice! If you have questions about any of our requirements, I suggest that you consult with an attorney of your own choosing.
