Learning AE CS6 - Questions

Hello guys.

I've never used AE, only Premiere so i'm a complete noob at but i'd love to learn how it works and to have the ability to put some more quality in my work.

I've gone for this one to at least learn the basics: https://www.video2brain.com/en/after-effects-learn-by-video

Will a beginner like me be in good hands with those tutorials?

One more thing, where can i download some AE projects so i can have the possibility to follow the steps given by the videos and learn how its really done?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks truindie!

Did your learn or are you learning from there?

I think i'll see these ones first http://www.videocopilot.net/basic/ and then pass to those at the bottom

Yes, the basic ones are very good first tutorials.

I learned it a while ago, but haven't been keeping up. I should start again, but am more busy with writing and filming now. And the After Effects I use now, has more to do with screen replacements, and green screens, and very little to do with special visual effects.

But below is my reel from 5 years ago. Most of the AE stuff here I learned from Andrew Kramer. It's not very high def, but it gives you an idea about what you can learn from this guy. Also, he gets you started, and it's great impetus to get you to keep learning. He's a good teacher.

That liquid blood effect at 2:33 is sick! You didn't actually drop any blood in water to get that effect? It was 100% digital?

Hell no man. They're just stock footage colored to the text. haha. If I could do that digitally, I'd probably be getting paid for my work, and not being told "you know, there are some students we're considering also" as I am about to quote my price. :)
Cheers

haha I gotcha. I went through all of the videocopilot basic tutorials before, but I never knew they had another section full of free tutorials. They have some killer videos on there! Thanks a ton for posting that link.
