Just got my first Super 8 camera.

It's a Canon 512 XL. Pretty easy to use. I don't know much about Super 8 cameras but I think this is a good start camera. I've been shooting some experimental footage today and once I get the film developed I'll post it on here! Cheers!

Very cool

If you get it telecined, after you develop it, make sure the lab knows what framerate you used.

Sadly, the camera came with Kodachrome 40 Type A, and after doing research just now, they no longer process that type of film.

Any recommendations for other types of film?

Heh, yah... Dwayne's was the last lab to preocess that. They stopped in Dec of last year, holding out 'til the end.

Reversal film can be run through a projector as soon as it's developed.

Negative film needs to be transferred before it's watchable.

Not familiar with s8 offerings these days, but maybe there's a way to do some hand process with it?
