Introductorism.

Hello all, I guess this is my proper introduction.
My name is Elliot and I reside in Melbourne, Australia.
I am in my last two years of high school, so still young,
I have had the idea of pursuing a filmmaking career for
about a year now and I have had many ideas that I have
wanted to put to the screen. A few days ago I finished my
first proper screenplay (proper meaning...well finished),
funnily enough I don't think I want to use it, even for a
short (not planning on doing a feature any time yet ).
Me and a friend have had a new idea for a film instead.
Heavily inspired by the Coen Brothers and,
our idea is something along these lines...

"A handsome young French man marries a rich Australian
woman and moves into her big house, when his mother
pretends that she is on her death bed, his wife lets her
move in with them at her house. The French man only
speaks French to his mother who speaks no English,
together they plot the murder of his new spouse to steal
all of her money that she inherited from her late
millionaire father. The woman gets suspicious when the
man's mother seems a lot healthier than she claims...(unfinished)"

Any plot suggestions or crits are welcomed.
I have only shot two short films (one that I shot in
super 8 and the other I shot on my Sony HDR-HC5)
that had no dialogue and
basically became faux-music videos, I'd like to think that
I have the idea of shots and angles pretty down, considering
I watch a lot of movies each week and I've learnt quite a bit
in my media class.

My top ten films at this time are...

10) Blue Velvet
9) Mystery Train
8) Rushmore
7) Spirited Away
6) High and Low
5) The Man who Wasn't There
4) Ghost World
3) Down By Law
2) The Royal Tenenbaums
1) He Died with a Felafel in his Hand

My favourite directors/writers are The Coen Brothers, Wes
Anderson, Jim Jarmusch, David Lynch, Akira Kurosawa,
Alfred Hitchcock, Hayao Miyazaki and Quentin Tarantino.

I hope I didn't write too much,

Ell.
