Intel's Advice to Gamers and Video Editors on i7 issue

Well, HP sent out an Intel i7 Processor Firmware update that I installed that seems to be adjusting the fan speeds. The CPU my laptop uses is in this family being a i7 - 7700HQ for laptops. Has anyone else gotten firmware updates for the Intel i7 - 7700 family chips?
