Hello Indies!
Tonight, 26th July, in Sydney Australia, was the opening night of the 2012 Indie Gems Film Festival.
Indie Gems is returning for its 3rd consecutive year as a showcase celebrating independent work and creativity. It will present a weekend of diverse and exciting screenings, informative workshops and film networking events.
This year, for the weekend of the festival the Short Film selection will also be streamed on Fillim.
Each night, as the films are screen, they will be uploaded and available to watch at:

Tonight screening has 3 awesome shorts.
Sydney 2030
Dir: Alex Barnett & Tatjana Marjanovic / Prod: Suzie Smith / Wr: Tatjana Marjanovic
Episode 1: Cameron Hunter lives the perfect life – heir to a legal legacy, top of the class, beautiful girlfriend – but even he has his secrets. So when his past comes back to get him, how long will it take before the truth's revealed? - This is Australia's very own 90210 ... just a little bit shorter ... Oh how we love to laugh at Hipster shenanigans

Sintel
Dir: Colin Levy / Prod: Ton Roosendaal / Screenplay: Esther Wouda
Sintel is an epic fantasy film set in a distant, mystical land. A girl finds a little dragon and tries to raise it - Some of you may have seen this but if you haven't you must ... Created using the free/open source 3D creation suite Blender, this 15 minute film has been realized in the studio of the Amsterdam Blender Institute, by an international team of artists and developers ... basically it kicks ass and has a great story too.

Facebook Screwed My Life
Dir/Prod/Wr: David Choi / Prod: Duri Choi, Jason Ju / Music: Daniel VJ Kumar (Nave 279)
Our world has changed... Facebook is here. But are we better off? Whatever happened to human interaction? Asking a girl out in real life? Actually laughing at your friends jokes? Are we really the people we say we are online? I dunno. That's why I made this song - Great little satirical ditty that is relevant and funny ... cause it's true ... Watch out for the groovy dance breakdown

Hope that you all enjoy these 3 and LOVE to hear your feedback.
On Saturday we screen at least another 5 shorts for your viewing pleasure!
Cheers,
Joa
