They're not all an exact color match.. thanks to walmart being sold out.
Still I am quite satisfied.. and with how dark everything is going to be I don't think it will stand out

The lead bad guy? So, what you're saying is, this guy understands that this scene requires his presence more so than anyone else involved, and he can only be there for an hour? .........maybe the hero should kill this villain pretty early on.....

You could always suffocate him in the
sheeting, then wrap him up in it. :D

I have a real body bag.. zipper and everything :)

Well by lead bad guy, i mean he is the mob boss.. so he is not in every scene but yes I thought he understood? But he is clueless apparently.

This filming crap is really disrupting my friendships. People I thought I could count on screwing me over like this.. planned for months and he tells me the night before that he can only be here for an hour. Definitely has changed the way I look at him

not the first 'friend' i've had this experience with although this was the first time with a significant part.. the others were just extras and i was able to forgive them and move on within minutes

After the initial "yes I'm interested" comes the statement from you: I'll need you for 8 hours, minimum. Then if you cut him early, he'll be grateful… and you've set the expectation right up front.

honestly i could have made due with 2.5-3 hours… and we had a rehearsal last month and i told him this. But with 1 hour.. man what a joke.

That picture made me chuckle, in a good way! Just imagining the amount of fake blood you plan on using...

Q: are the blue tarps part of the scene & set, or will you be cropping and framing them out of the shot?

Hope it goes well!

I've had to recast an entire short, 5 parts, for exactly the same reason. They all had a hockey game they'd failed to take into account when agreeing to the shoot, so it happens. It sucks. It makes us stronger.

Is it possible to shoot the other actors' material, without the lead guy and just get their shots, that do not have him in, or is it not worth it and morale would just better if everyone was there to act with each other?

Oh yes.. the tarps are definitely part of the scene.

14 hour day for me.. 12 hour day for my actors.
Fortunately I had a friend willing to come in and play the part of the mob boss for me on such short notice.

Unfortunately about 4 hours into this shoot, while filming a vehicle scene I lost all of my storyboards :( I will make a photocopy next time and have a backup.. one of my actors had to leave at 9pm, but he stayed until 10 anyway. I was rushing a lot at the end, didnt get to use as much blood as I wanted, and without storyboards it got a little messed up. I know I missed a couple of reaction shots I wanted, so I'm slightly concerned about the editing but I will make it work. I know I don't want to have to redress that set to do it all again!

Also while doing this, I was told by one of my actors that the first movie was leaked. I showed it to this friend because he was out of state.. I figured that wouldn't affect the premiere. now all of my friends have already seen it. Worked on that for like 6 months and I was really looking forward to seeing an audiences reaction to my work. That experience has been stolen from me

I guess I can't help being sensitive to these things, it really brought me down. I wasn't even happy when we wrapped for the day.. I was so thrilled the last time when production finished. I swear this film making is really taking a toll on my friendships. getting me pissed off and disappointed at a lot of people

Isn't filmmaking fun?

Unfortunately, as you get more and more into filmmaking, this is what happens. Friendships break and you loose money, time, and sleep. Just something you have to get used to.

I think it was more fun when I had hot chicks in bikinis and everyone was drinking on set. The good old days…

Sorry to hear that sfoster, but you got film in the can and that's never a bad thing.

And some folks will see the film for the first time and you'll get to see their reactions - shame about the leak though. :grumpy:

At least it's not as bad as Quentin Tarantino's recent script leak, were he shelved the entire movie.
