I found my Sony VX1000!

Recently dug this camera up from the depths of my attic. I never had the chance to test out all the features of this camera, but due to today's standards in HD Video and whatnot, is this camera worth using? Most of the videos I've seen online are shotty and "home-video" looking. Is there a possibility to produce professional quality video with the VX1000?

It's certainly possible to produce professional quality video with it - years ago I worked on a PBS series that was shot almost entirely on a VX1000. But no - it's not really up to today's standards for most work. It shoots standard definition 4:3 interlaced video, while HD 16:9 progressive is pretty much baseline these days. It also doesn't have the low light capabilities or dynamic range of even inexpensive modern cameras, so I'd say it's a poor choice to work with now unless you really have no other option.
