I Am Somebody

I documented the protests that transpired after the killings of Eric Garner and Michael Brown by police between 2014-2015. Five years later and the protests continue. Progress still needs to be made. At the time I had just recently picked up a video camera so this is some of my very first footage. I was inspired by the latest demonstrations and events to reedit it and tie it in to today.

This is extremely powerful!! I love it. This who disliked it are heartless!

I like the transition from the old to the new. Think you have to find a way to make it even more personnel. To make your story entwined with the overall struggle. Another ting that you can explore is if you show some shadow side of the BLM movement....or the antifa side of tings. But its up to you... I also like your: The Blacksmith. Looking forward of more of your work.

Thank you, I appreciate it! I do agree about making it more personal. At the time I was interested in doing a fly-on-the-wall approach, but I wish I had interjected more, doing some more interviews.

I don't think I'm going to go back and reedit this video, but I'll continue to follow the movement and protests. I'm not done with the project overall.
