How's the Canon T4i for low light?

Hi harmonica - here's a side-by-side between the T4i and the Nikon D5200 at ISO 6400 (final shot) - the T4i is noisier, in my view.

And here is a side-by-side between the D5200 and the much more expensive full frame Canon 5D Mark III:

I've shot with the T4i (not in low light) and it's a decent video-capable DSLR - but the D5200 is better at this price point. It produces almost zero moire and has great low light performance.

Hope this is helpful,

Bill

The t4i, t3i and t2i all share the same sensor. In all practicality unless you're swiveling the screen to light your talent with it you'll get the exact same results that you get with your t2i.

Actually, you probably will get marginally better results with the T4i, as it uses the newer Digic 5 processor, rather than the Digic 4 in the T2i/T3i. Low light handling was supposedly improved in it IIRC, although I don't think I ever saw much to convince me.

Oh okay, the woman at the camera store told me that the T4i has a new sensor, that makes a lot of difference compared to my T2i. She was probably just trying to sell a camera. And the Canon T4i is definitely noiser in that example, and I'm not impressed.
