How is This Type of Animation Achieved

Hey guys/gals,

How is this type of animation achieved. I know the animation is called Kinetic Animation (or it may not be). But the way the text bubbles and icons move and expand look organic and fresh. I was wondering if there was a specific plug-in or of it is actually all done with each individual frame.

It's done with keyframes, not frame by frame.. probably some custom tweening going on for the bounces and such though. Hard to say for sure, there are probably MoGraph products that provide those kind of in-between animations out of the box.

This would be relatively easy to replicate in After Effects or Apple Motion, for example.. I'm not terribly familiar with motion, so it could be that the bounces and rubber band looking effects are part of motion, in AE I believe you'd have to do a bit more work to achieve it.
