How does one get plugged in?

Where would be the best place to go to get plugged in on doing odd jobs on film shoots? I've had a ton of experience, and love movie-making, but getting hired on still eludes me. Maybe it's my oddball personality.

Who knows.

Anyway, thought I'd ask, and if I'm in the wrong forum, just say so.
