How do I light groups of people versus one/two persons

Hi everybody,

I have a question, how do I light groups of people versus lighting one/two persons?
Theoretically or practically.( All lighting will be tungsten)

In my case, I am lighting close ups one/two persons with a key 1k Arri diffused and a fill 4'4 bank kino

For shots with 2-5 people, roughly speaking without time to test, can I flood the Arri more so it hits more people? Or fore go the Arri 1k together...

Instead bounce some light on to a 13x13 ft scrim I have (which is a movie profjector screen) with a 750 open face and an arri without barn doors as a key?

I could put the scrim up on two stands, and bring it back with rope to create and angle, but I won't have
a butterfly frame.

Cheers,
Mike
