Horror feature care to read it?

hi guys,

I have just finished a few months prep and writing on a low budget horror film I would now like to get made.

could be done on the small scale for about 50k to 100k, on the large scale under a million I recon.

I believe it's a great story but in desperate need of other peoples opinion haha.

It's finished at 121 pages and I'm also ready and thinking about writing a sequel after my next project is finished which is a romance drama.

Let me know if your interested and I'll send it along.
thanks
james

I always smile when I see people who've probably never broken down a script tell others that it could be made for 50k. When you say made for 50-100k, you mean with slave labor right, or is it truly a single room drama that could get shot in no time?

I'd be willing to take a look at it. If I like it, I can ask a few people if they're interested. It'll also depend on what you're chasing for your part.

I'll PM you my email.

Hi

121 pages is long, but I recon it will come in at around 1hour 50 or below.

@sweetie

I have done rough breakdowns on other features before.
20k of that is based on set design construction alone which is crucial to the story.
2/3rds of the film is found footage style.

Thanks for these links. I am always on the lookout for this kind of research.

I think I'm a short way a way from trying to direct thi s immediately. Currently I am designing the look of it and have found the locations and figuring out the SFX for it, sound etc.

So I would say I am kinda producing this currently--But in all honestly. This is just one of the scripts I have written and it's one with out feedback..
It's my first horror and before I wrote it vowed I would never do this kind of stuff even though I'm a small fan of it ;)

I would like to gauge peoples opinions on it before I commit anymore time to it.

Like I said i think it's great but that only goes so far s we all know! I am in the position already with 25k of the budget if it is winner from a investor partner I'm working with.

Great links rayw.

pringleman, you need to be 100% sure your screenplay is damn good.

I thought my first screenplay was great. I have written five now and looking back, I cringe when I read the early draft of my first - yep, it wasn't good at all.

Get reviews from people but I'd also pay for a few pro screenplay reader reviews. You can do a google on script analysis or script coverage. They'll give an impartial analysis of your work - the better ones will also advise on how to improve it. Your friends and partner etc don't cut it - they're not objective, and they likely have zero screenwriting experience.

I occasionally do some coverage for these folks. They have a great coverage team and the fees are very reasonable. If your script has issues they'll tell you, and give good guidance on how to resolve it/them.

Hi Indie Paul

to stress again. This is my first "horror" screenplay. Not my first screenplay.

Thanks again, I'm not quite ready to do coverage yet.
for the link will keep them in mind once I'm ready.
