Holiday Scrapbook DVD collecting submissions

HOLIDAY SCRAPBOOK DVD is reviewing completed (Christmas/Hanukkah/Thanksgiving/New Year/etc) holiday-themed narrative, documentary, or experimental films for its inaugural DVD collection, to be released fall ’09.

Your work should be between four and thirty minutes in length, and must have all applicable music/performance/location rights and clearances.

While adult themes are fine, language should be clean (or overdubbed/muted) and the films should be acceptable for a primetime television audience. Films must be free of nudity. We’re looking to expose filmmakers to as wide an audience as possible, not necessarily the performers.

About Holiday Scrapbook DVD:
Curated by prominent members of the independent film community, and distributed online by a dedicated team of ecommerce professionals behind a number of very successful product launches, the inaugural edition of the Holiday Scrapbook DVD series will contain the most inventive, heartwarming, clever, personal and evocative holiday-themed short films.

This collection will represent the best of the independent film community, offering exposure to filmmakers as well as a healthy percentage of sales (which will vary based on the number of films accepted, and the final retail price of the collection) – we aren’t out to get rich, but we think the idea is strong and can help a lot of filmmakers get their work out to people who don’t ordinarily purchase independent film.

If we accept your work, we will provide more information on rights and contracts which will need to be signed before officially placing your film in the collection.

The submission deadline for our 2009 edition is July 31st. Send screener DVDs to the following address. We will get back to you ASAP about your film. Thank you so much for contributing your vision, and helping make this collection a success!

We have a lot of Thanksgiving themed shorts. Looking for some Christmas, New Years or any other end of the near "Winter Holiday" short films!

Are you looking for "feel good" films, or any indies, as in horror, controversial, etc.?

We're definitely not limited to "feel good". We just want to stay within the winter holidays theme.

Animations, horror, music videos, anything if it fits.

We’ve had some requests, and we decided to accommodate those filmmakers who have requested some extra time to finish up their short. We can probably squeeze another month out of the process, and have extended the deadline for submissions to JULY 31st. Get those screeners in quick!

Remember you only have until July 31st (post marked) to get us your short films about winter holidays! Pro or Con, Animation, Horror, experimental, whatever!
