Help with the 'exposure triangle'!

Hello! I'm a newbie using the Panasonic GH3 with a 25mm f/1.4 lens to shoot video. However, whenever I shoot outside the picture is totally blown out. I don't want to forfeit my aperture to correct the exposure, and my ISO is already on its lowest (200). The only thing left to balance the exposure is to decrease the shutter speed (currently set at 1/50), however I was told that I should always shoot with a shutter speed that's double my frame rate (currently 25p).

Hopefully I used the correct terminology there! lol

Thanks!
