Help needed with contacting agents please!

Hello! I'm very new to documentaries (yeah, that's got to be obvious), and I was hoping for some advice. I want to interview several minor league baseball players as well as a retired baseball player. Two players are somewhat under the radar but I'm more concerned about hooking the retired player and the top prospect. I want to get varying views of the minor leagues from those who have been there. I know most of the time it's the money I can offer, however I'm just as concerned with the letter to get the agents interested. Any advice? I just need one or two interviews. Do I offer anything in the first letter or should I just pitch the idea? I know I need to get a lawyer but do I need an agent for myself as well? Anything would be great! Thanks so much!

Money isn't always the deciding factor. Contact the players
agent and pitch your documentary. If you cannot cover all
expenses then be prepared to go to them.

You need to know a bit about your target. What kind of a good cause he
would be interested in. That helps you pitch what you want to say with
your documentary, as something you two have in common.
