Help me build a computer

Hello .

I have a budget of about 500 dollars to build a computer for my filmmaking work .

Even though I am working with both Maya and 3D max I would like to get a decent computer for my editing.I am working with both Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects .

I am working with super super crappy computer right now and it does the job but it has no real time playback , I have to wait 1 minute to see the color grades that I made in real time , rendering is a true nightmare as the computer crashes about 5 times before I can actually render successfully the video .

Editing is a nightmare as well . Super slow , pisses me off all the time .

What would you guys suggest ?
 
For $500 you won't get much. For video editing you need about 8gb RAM, an i5 should do the job at your budget and then the graphics card will eat up the rest of your budget.

If I was building my own PC at that price range I'd get:
AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE (or maybe something a little better) processor @$100
AMD Radeon HD 7850 graphics card @$150
1TB Seagate Barracuda hard drive @ $100

Then the rest is for the case, power supply, cooling fan and mother board and RAM, but you might have to limit yourself to 6GB of RAM and a basic "no thrills" mother board.
