Hello from Oklahoma

Hi everyone,

Ive been googling tons of things relating to DIY film making and kept ending up on threads here so I figured it was time to join.

at this point I'm approaching this as a hobby, but I have wanted to make films since about the 5th grade (I'm now 31). I abandoned the idea sometime after highschool to play in bands instead. Now married with kids and full time responsibilities like work and grad school, I find myself being drawn back to film largely due to the accessibility and significantly lower prices on gear than a decade or so ago.

Looking forward to picking up some great tips and constructive criticism!

Cool

You have any story ideas in mind already?

I have a couple ideas of things I'd like to develop down the road, but for now (mostly to convince the wife its worth spending money on) I am doing "high production" home movies of the kids. This helps me develop some skills in areas like sound, lighting, framing and editing...which is really what I'm interested in at this stage.
