Guide to camera?

Hey guys,
Does anyone know of any good websites/books/articals/ or just personal tips on choosing a camera, budget around $2000-$2,500 (possibly upto $3,500 if needed)
What should I look for? What qualities?
This is all new but consider me a sponge, anything info you guys have I'll gladly eat up!yum.
