What kind of material did you get into, earlier?

I have always enjoyed writing, never really had an overriding preference for any one particular genre though. Studied film for a few years straight out of high school and made a few shorts, mainly comedies and action films. I'm hoping to make a few things in the future with the intention of getting them seen by a wider audience.
