Just another newbie here from somewhere on the other side of the world to most people here, looking to find a community to be part on, to learn from the proz, to give opinion where i can, and generally just to have fun.

I think you're the second New Zealander of recent weeks to introduce their country as 'Middle Earth'. Bit of a national fixation, eh? :D

Oh Really?! wow... what a co-incident

Well, i guess it's because unlike there in Hogwarts, we don't have any flying candle, dragon fighting, not to mention huge wedding or other great events. Here, everyone just lives quietly, the dwarves in their caves, the elves in their forests, everything is slow and peaceful.

Before The Lord of the Ring came around that the world had barely knew we existed. And in turn it really did became, like you said, a fixation, haha! :lol:
 
Very true.

I went to New Zealand a couple of years ago and instead of visiting great cultural and historical sites I went and toured the country for its Lord of the Rings locations! It was an amazing trip though.

Incidentally, the MacBook I'm using here in Canada does not believe that 'Zealand' is a word. Kind of offensive. :P

It generates some revenue for the site owner.
