GoPro HERO3+ Silver Edition- Is it worth it?

I've recently been thinking about investing in a GoPro to pull off some slow mo shots, and it seems like the silver edition would fit the bill (black edition is a little pricey for what you get). Basically all I'm wondering is if it would be a worth while buy or not.

If anyone who owns or has used a silver, or any other edition of a GoPro, please leave a reply.

Thanks!

Black edition gives you a 2.7K shot, that's worth a lot IMHO. Assuming you are doing an action shot you'll probably need to edit/pan down the final shot and that's where that 2.7K flexibility comes in handy. Plus, I think de-fish eyeing a larger resolution preserves more sharpness. There is a GoPro forum you can check out too.

The Black comes with the remote control ($80 when sold separately) which is much inferior to the excellent (and free) Go Pro app that can be installed on a smart phone or tablet and lets you view the Go Pro (white, silver or black models) feed as well as remotely control it.

As well as what DIY said, Go Pro recently released a firmware update for the 3+. The Black model had a much superior upgrade to the Silver...

LOL, so true. I can't find a reason to use the remote control at all vs. the phone app.
