Good HD camera to take to Gaza

Hi,

I am helping an arts project that is going to Gaza. We have someone who is documenting it and we have a Canon HF100 camera. Its a great little camera and although it is a bit basic does have mic and headphone sockets and produces nice footage as long as the light is not too low.

We would like to take 2 cameras in case the existing one has problems. What would people recommend. It looks like it is possible to pick up a used HF100 for around £250. Is this the best option or are there any others we should consider at around this price. We would like ti to be HD and not too big.

Thanks for replying. For me Hard Drives are a very bad idea. They are fragile and you could loose everything if they go wrong. SD card or something like it are the way to go. Also I think that camera is Standard Definition. The HF100 produces nice looking full HD.

That is true. It is standard definition.

Why not go for the HF100 then? If you can get a good deal for it then it seems a neat little camera.
