Free monitor for Canon

Hey folks .

I just wanted to share real quick with you something I discovered yestarday .


Probably most of you already know it but anyways ..

Basically if you have a Canon DSLR camera you can connect it to your lap top with your cable and then install a software that comes with the camera ( you'll get a disk when you buy the camera ) .

And you can use your lap top as a monitor of the DSLR , you can control everything , you can focus from your lap top without even touching the camera and so on .

For me its a huge thing since I wanted to start vlogs ,as I use the 550D getting the focus right was an absolute nightmare.

Also I tryed to bring my lap top on set and just before starting the shoot to upload 2-3 test videos and make a quick grade in After Effects to see if everything comes right and I was super happy that I did .

And... USB extenders are cheap, so you can run a cable down a jib as well to get a monitor at the control end that allows you to operate the camera (unless you're on a fully manual lens).

it's easier to press the magic zoom button to focus it perfectly.

hint: focus on the eyes
