The Working with Filmmakers Legal Clinic at Chapman University School of Law provides production legal services for selected ultra low budget independent filmmakers. Services provided by the law students include: forming a company, agreements for underlying rights, filing for copyright, and drafting the contracts associated with the production (director, producer, crew, actors, location, releases, etc.). The law students are supervised by experienced entertainment attorneys and all legal services are free of charge.
Films are considered for the Clinic legal services if they meet the following criteria:
-fully funded
-ultra low budget independent feature (not a documentary or a short)
-start date in the near future
-producer or director available to meet with the law students
Interested Filmmakers are welcome to contact: Professor Kathy Heller
