Fotodiox CFL's, anyone using?
I looked into using CFL's as cheap alternative for lighting and it seemed like all DIY stuff just wasn't enough light for proper filmmaking.
But I recently saw a nine bulb box and a 16 bulb box on fotodiox. http://www.fotodiox.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=25_72
Supposed to be comparable to a 1k and a 2k. Anyone using these and can confirm how they performed?
If it's good light, I'm thinking a 16 bulb key, 9 bulb fill, and a couple clamp lights for backlight and extra fill and I might have a decent fluorescent kit for a few hundred bucks. Thoughts? Advice?
EDIT: I'm planning on using the lights with the Canon T2i DSLR and have heard rumors about there being flicker on the video w/ fluorescents. Is this just from old school over head fluorescents or should I be concerned w/ the compact fluorescents as well?
