Font and font size for screenplay

Can any body please advise the correct font and font size to use for a professional final script?

I've always been told 12 point Courier, but I may be wrong…

I'll recommend you start using celtx to do your writing... it's free and will handle the formatting for you. It's cross platform and will allow you and your collaborators to continue their respective parts of the production without having to leave the app... it's a wonderful tool for production.

Yes. The standard font is Courier, the standard size is 12 point.
