First Attempt at Syncing

I decided to try and see how syncing the audio was, rather than just chatting about it. I used my D5100 for the video, and a spare camcorder I had to act as a mic, and a monopod as the boom. I know the audio quality isn't great, but I made do with what I had to work with. My bird decided to have a word, but I'm glad I picked up some of the sounds from the video game my bro was playing.

This made me realize how much even using such a crude method of adding an external audio input can add to a film. I think spending the extra money on a digital recorder and mic is the way to go over the VideoMic just to be mounted on my camera.
