If you're trying to find both financing AND TV distribution, maybe itvs.org can help. They will fund and help distribute your film through nationwide PBS and local PBS affiliates. If your flick has a social issue / commentary, liberal or conservative, they are an option. [That's their line, although I would bet that they will be far more receptive to a liberal-slanted proposal...] They fund from $30k-$350k. You apply for funding on a bi-annual schedule - check out www.itvs.org for the official word...
