Field monitor advice

Ok so I asked about field monitor support and the results were a bit dissapointing due to my budget but, I came across this monitor and it has an attachable battery pack.

It's got hdmi and its only about 300 out the door for the lcd and battery.

Let me know your thoughts!

Iv been looking at these as well,
Let us know if you bite the bullet and what you think of it..

What camera will you be using with it? I have a canon hfs100 and I noticed that ZEBRA stripes are NOT displayed on the composite video out (maybe they are on the HDMI or component outs....) You would think it would work, but who knows?.

There is a setting on my camera to show "on screen displays" which is on and I do see the other things, just no the zebra stripes.

settings in the camcorder to control this information. We regret any

However, this is not COMPLETELY true, even on composite out I see all the overlay display stuff. including the grid, it just DOESN'T show the zebra stripes or the other focus aides...

When I make the purchase for a Panasonic AG-HMC40, that's what it will go on.

The camera has hdmi out so I won't have to worry about cable issues.

I am curious to ask Panasonic about Field monitors on this model, as Directorik said that's what they are for.

I asked canon for clarity, they said..

Thank you for writing to us. I am sorry if I was not clear.
The Zebra strips or focus aides will not appear on an external screen,
regardless of the connection. Only the standard LCD info will appear as
long as "Output Onscreen Displays" is set to ON in the camcorders menu.
We hope this information is helpful to you. Please let us know if we
can be of any further assistance with your VIXIA HF S100.

FYI: I dont consider it that big of deal, so long as the other stuff shows up on the LCD I'm happy(ish).. Need the bigger screen for focus.. the little one can work for zebra etc..
