Fellow Media Production Grad Looking for Advice

I’m a third year student at Coventry University student Media Production.

As an aspiring film producer I would love to learn more about how to become a producer and what is expected from someone with an entry-level wanting to work in that field. Am I better of working as a free-lancer or finding a graduate job

I highly appreciate your time and effort as well as any advised that could be given to me.

Peggy.

Hi,

I believe the role of a film producer is organising and managing a team of creative. The role consist of dealing with funding and the distribution of the film. Turning an idea into a film and being responsible for every aspects of the film'.

There are a lot of paths you could take.

Your best would probably be to find a PA job in a production office. Learn as much as you can. Do what you can to learn what your producer does, on a daily basis. It's a slower route than most, but my best guess, this would be your personal path.
