Experienced Director, Newb Question.

Hey guys. I'm really new to the forum, and I found it looking for the answer to this question;

I'm making a short horror film for a college class, and I'm incorporation a pop culture monster known as Slenderman.

There are many movies that show someone driving, and seeing someone walk into the road, and the driver swerves to avoid hitting the person. I'm wanting to do that with this being, how would I do that either in Post Production (Because the costume for it would be a little difficult to make, trust me, I tried.)

If you're talking about tentacled slenderman, you will have to motion track the guy's back and attach 3D arms to it.. Keep it simple.. don't model the whole arm- just 4 tube like things that are moving around like octopus arms..
On the creative side, I would suggest tryin something fresher than the scenario you suggested.
(About the car swerving thing)
Good luck.

That's a good idea, but I don't want the tentacles to be shown until the end. I want it to end like.. Slenderman reaches to the camera (after the protagonist) and it cuts to black, implying that Slenderman caught him.

I wanted to have a 3D model of him walk into the road, shouldn't be too hard to make it look realistic, because it'll be dark. I don't know much about 3D stuff, either.

Making a complete 3d model will take shit loads of time n talent.
Instead you could just find a thin wiry guy. Make him dress in a suit and put Rorschach (Watchmen) kinda mask over his face. Since you plan to show it rise from behind him and towards the camera, you don't even need to model stuff.

Basically , watch http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/growing_3d_vines/
Then mask out your slenderman and make these tentacle grow out from behind him and lunge at camera. Add a little camera shake at the end and cut to black.
I'm pretty sure with Element 3d, you can do it even quicker. Info on same site.

Dude I asked about Slenderman, right here about a week ago. But unfortunately I'm stuck in India for some time in distant future. I have been wanting to make something about it but not like the video's I see on youtube. I wanted to create a pied piper kinda mythos around it and maybe style-wise I would say like a Bella Tarr movie.
I think board members here will always give you wonderful advice and help you out. hey they help me out all the time

I looked for a considerable amount of time a few months back. All I could find was a $50 morphsuit. Not really ideal for a 5 minute film.

It's gotta be white, and no, I don't think so.

Well, use white fabric instead.

A sewing machine is a very common household item. Ask your friends' moms. Or for $9.99, and as seen on TV at 3am, one of those handheld battery-powered stitchers would work. Or a basic needle & thread and 10 minutes of your time would do the job.

How is a basic sewing job so difficult, and the 3D renderings & compositions into a 2D environment so simple?

Probably because I'm thinking about it WAY too hard.

I appreciate everyone's input, thank you all.
