Exclusive first footage from Smalltown and more...

Hey everyone. I'm super excited to announce the first exclusive footage from the feature film SMALLTOWN.

You'll have to visit my website's video page and take a look there, as that is the only place it will be up. Give it a second to buffer, and watch fullscreen.

Here I play the character Both--the half man half woman leader of the 'Lost Children'--as I speak to the lead character about my camp and Smalltown.

The director gave me permission to put a snippet of this scene in my performance examples as well as my reel, which I think is super cool--mainly because it's taken them much longer than planned to get this thing finished. It is shot on Red, and has cost more than expected...causing a moderate break in the shoot. They are now back to shooting, have wrapped principle, and are going to get the Red package for one more go to get all of the necessary pick-ups.

I'm also very excited to announce this is my first real feature footage I've edited. I was given the compressed QT footage and I personally cut this. Trust me, I'm sure it's not perfect, the sound design needs work, and it will change for the actual movie...but it was fun to cut. Believe it or not, they didn't film the clapboard...so I had to sync all the sound by eyeball.

Yes...I think the lighting of the scene needed work--it will need color correction and a touch of lightening in post (which I did not get into).

If you feel so inclined, you can also check out some of my other performance examples on the same page.

Sweet.

I must know -- what was this dastardly temptation you gave in to?!

My goodness, I can't figure out what you mean...in my post and in the clip I don't mention temptation. Hmmm.

EDIT...ohhhhh. From 'By Chance'...right. :) Well...

I was sexual with a young boy.

Wow, tough role to tackle but u seem to be handling it! congrats!

i wish the editor used some more reaction cuts in the scene, though.

You mean for the Smalltown scene? Yes, it was very difficult to keep it real and believable, and I hope I pulled that off. Thank you for the compliments guys.

As far as reaction shots I assume you mean from Smalltown? Yes I could have added more (I cut it), but this was cut specifically for my reel, so naturally I wanted to hilight myself. :) I hope it's not *that* annoying. This is also the introduction of my character to the movie basically...so a focus on my story is important I think. But ya...I can't lie...I could have added more of the other guy. Psst...fyi...he didn't give me much to cut to. Note to actors, reactions are super important, not only does it give an editor something to cut to, but it also gives you more screen time *wink wink*.

If you're talking about my performance and the editor's choice for By Chance ("The Rules")...then that's an interesting observation...because they tend to do this weird thing (which I actually like sometimes) where on a persons line, they are actually on the reaction shot...opposite to what most people do. Sometimes it's very powerful...you'll notice it in "The Rules" episode of By Chance.
