I did like it, but probably not in the way you intended.
I found it funny because it was so illogical. Who would think to do that to a zombie? WHY would you do that to a zombie?
It could have been taken to a more macabre extreme, where we really see that your protagonist is a bit nuts. Like, she has a room with all these zombies tied to chairs around a table where there's a tea set, and all the zombies have been dressed up, just like a little girl would dress up dolls. And she talks to them like she would at a pretend tea party. That way we feel some empathy for the zombie and cheer his escape. It would be a twist role reversal, you know, like normally in zombie movies we fear for the people; but here we're feeling for the undead.
I didn't get why she would sleep in the hall. Why would she make a bagel, cheese, and Advil sandwich? Did she previously know the zombie boy? And most importantly... I'm pretty sure you can't knock out a zombie by hitting it on the head (and why would she use a gun to physically assault things?).
The editing was ok, but I don't understand why you had to edit on Final Cut and iMovie. The acting was OK.
Most importantly, did it do it's job? Did you get into the college? It doesn't matter what I thought; but what the college thought.
