Editting software

I have magix movie editor pro 16 hd and I'm new to filmmaking. So is this program ok?

It will be more than fine for now, and if you find yourself really getting into films in the future there are other options.

thanks. if you have any suggestions on software (thats not to expensive) I would appreciate the help. I guess there isn't anything that comes close to adobe after effects?

After Effects is for compositing, not really editing. If you're looking for an inexpensive consumer NLE look Cyberlink power director. I've been playing around with that for the past month or so. Its actually pretty decent.

Cyberlink power director is awsome i used that for about a year untill i upgraded to adobe Premeire. Now i will not work with anything but premeire.....unless i end up getting a mac down the road but i doubt it

They make it for Mac OS, too.
