DVD Creation Software

I'm looking for suggestions on what is the best software to create DVDs with.

When I bought my DVD burner, it came with this lame Sonic MyDVD software which does not give me the options I want:

* Ability to create anamorphic widescreen
* Ability to choose encoded bitrate

What are you using that will do this?

Adobe Encore DVD. Not great for ease of use (it operates in a similar fashion to photoshop) but it's extremely powerful.

Does anyone know where the best place (i.e. cheapest) to buy adobe encore 1.5, or other dvd authoring software is?

also I have heard some good things about nero 6 as well, it would be great to hear your opinions on this.

Adobe Encore 1.5 is a good but hard to understand, but if you want something simple to understand and still does a lot, check out Ulead DVD Workshop 2.0, I've used that extensively and have created a few nice interactive menu with it as well, one is for A Joker's Card.
