A battery grip would be a neater solution than an external power supply and allow you to double your battery life - they can hold two standard batteries or up to six AA cells at any one time. Makes your camera look much more substantial, too!

Hehe! I tried this route. Everything is great until you go outside on a bright day and you can't see the LCD screen well enough to focus. So, I went the Zacuto route, but the $100.00 battery grip adapter didn't really work too well with the battery grip. Now I'm back to the one battery for movies and I use the grip for stills.

Alright guys, Ill go with the either the battery grip or buying some extra batteries! Thanks for all the help with the rigs and batteries and such! Love this site, great place to learn lots of film stuff

Knock off batteries are so cheap (though I use genuine canon in the camera I use knockoff LP-E6 for my monitor) just carry plenty of battteries.
