So I've been suffering at the hands of technology and my own ignorance lately. I recorded two theatrical performances with a Canon Vixia HFG10. However, when I went to upload the footage to my Mac, the Lexar SDXC card wasn't recognized (Apparently this type of card is not supported by Macintosh). In an effort to get the footage onto my Mac, I used the camera's copy function to move the footage to a PNY SDHC card. It worked, but when I got the footage into iMovie, the footage was broken into sections, with dropped frames between them. What causes dropped frames and how can I avoid this?
