dof adapter Canon XL1

Ok laugh all you want I still use an XL1. I can't help it I love it..

Any way I have the stock lens that came with the camera. I am looking at a jag35|pro with an achromat. Is the standard stock lens of the xl1 okay to use, or should I get a different lens to attach to the camera body.

I believe the order of assembly is Canon body -> xl1 lens -> achromat -> dof adapter -> 35 lens

Please help.
