Does everyone need to sign an agreement in my film?

Absolutely - if their name is in the credits, they need to have assigned their copyright and waived their moral rights or you do not have a clean chain of title. The only exception is "Special Thanks".

If you told me it was a fund raiser I would have looked just to show my support. Because you didn't tell me and made it seem like it was something else I feel mislead, lied to. :/
