Documentary wikipedia copyright

Hi folks!

After reading an article on the wikipedia I came up with an idea for a short documentary.

So the question is can I use facts from wiki or any other sources and put it into documentary?
Or will this violate copyright or the writers?

I know that at my level I don't have to REALLY care about it,but it is interesting.

Facts and public information tends not to be able to be copyrighted. There are a few exceptions, but I seriously doubt you'll encounter any of them in filming.
